One of the most important goals of our student chapter is giving back to the community and spreading the knowledge of optics. With this in mind, every year we plan and support numerous educational outreach events. We attend on-campus activities to promote the study of light to students, but also plan visits to elementary school classrooms to get children excited about engineering and optics. More specifically, we present the Optics Suitcase to many kids each semester, which is a box filled with colorful, hands-on experiments and learning tools that we use to teach students about the study of light and its amazing properties.
