Starting January 1, 2017 the University of Rochester stopped withholding taxes for US graduate students with the job codes 6000 and 6002.  Come listen to Professor Jennifer Kruschwitz talk about the joy of taking care of your withholdings independently.  She will discuss how to determine taxes owed, online forms, state vs. federal taxes, and offer examples for paying estimated taxes for graduate students who are single and those who are filing jointly with a spouse.  She will also highlight strategies she has used in her consulting business to keep track of her earnings so that she could easily assess and access what she owed to Uncle Sam (and Uncle Cuomo).  Accompanying her will be experts from the U of R who will be available for a Q&A session after the talk.

Location:Goergen 101

Refreshments will be served.
