Professor Agrawal wins prestigious 2012 IEEE Photonics Society Quantum Electronics Award

The Institute of Optics is very proud to announce that Professor Govind Agrawal is the recipient of the 2012 IEEE Photonics Society Quantum Electronics AwardFor sustained contributions to fiber-optic telecommunication technology through innovative research and authorship of numerous widely-respected books in the field.”

The Quantum Electronics Award is presented annually by the Photonics Society to honor an individual or group of individuals for outstanding technical contributions to quantum electronics, either in fundamentals or applications, or both. It consists of an honorarium of $4,000, a certificate, and bronze medal.

The presentation will be made during the Awards Ceremony at the 2012 IEEE Photonics Conference (IPC), in  San Francisco, California, USA on Monday 24th September, 2012.
